I'm sort of stupidly confused. I thought that California was eight hours behind London, not seven. :[

Oh wait, never mind. Stupid DST.

/useless comment. Thank you for this info!

Count me in I should be packing anyway. I am a paid up union member and a government worker.

I wasn't going to participate, but you have expressed your arguments very well. Thank you for listing the times, so myself and others can accurately participate.

No offsense intended, but as a meta-response, any "protest" that lasts a mere 24 hours, might as well not be a protest at all.

It's worthless. A small blip in posting statistics (and that's all this will be - a small blip) has already been offset by an increase in posts today - not to mention the number of posts on the 22nd that all say "OH LOOK AT ME, I WAS COOL AND DIDN'T POST YESTERDAY."

Having said that, good luck.

Hum, I forgot to add this:

Having said all the above, I challenge you all to an ONE WEEK boycott.

Let's see how serious you all are about this boycott. One week might show up in some sort of stats, but 24 hours surely won't (noticeably).

I'm sorry. Strike? Can you fill me in?

People who already have free Basic accounts may keep them. But nobody can create any new Basic accounts. So if you wanted to make a separate LJ for a novel, or for your poetry, or for whatever reason... you can't have a new Basic LJ anymore.

Also, employees of SUP have hinted in the Russian press that they want to do away with Basic accounts entirely. We hope to cut them off, to convince them that that idea won't fly AT ALL.

People should not be forced to pay for something that cleanses the soul

That's beautiful. Thank you!
