The protests are making a difference. Within the last three hours, the censored interests have been restored!
If you look at the Popular Interests page, you will once again see the formerly filtered "fanfiction", "depression", "bisexuality" -- even "faeries". LiveJournal is once again presenting its true face to the world, not a sanitized blandness.
Please continue to spread the word about the Content Strike. We are not merely consumers. We are a Community of Users, and we will be heard.

Like, really hard :)
My question is, can you get someone to make a banner for this event? It'd be neat to have a nice little badge I could stick in my lj to show support.
I'm sure many others would be willing to make some too. That's a simple one I just made real quick, buttt I could try making others as well.

I can't believe they did that, you know?
Of course, fanfiction is eeeeevil so I understand why they wanted that removed from the interests! ;D
Thanks for the heads up on all this, and the strike!

I got a personal reply via email and an apology.
That's better than Six Apart ever did.
Who wrote, you, can you say?

Ahoy!
That is all.
To build a fence around LiveJournal, the tzadik will open a MySpace account well in advance of Purim, and by no means wait until Purim Day!
As it is written, "King Achashvairosh imposed a tax on the land and on the islands". We LIVE on land and on islands. Therefore on Purim day we remember the tax on the land and on the islands, and refrain from posting on LIVE Journal.
Again, it is written, "King Achashvairosh imposed a tax on the land and on the islands". From this we learn that no tax was imposed on the ocean! The ocean is SPACious. Clal v'homer, it is praiseworthy to post much on MySpace on Purim Day. And he whose posts are the most drunken has the most merit.
But I do like the sentiment!

so apart from my little rant, I'm really glad people are protesting! POWER TO PROTESTERS!
BTW, I've added you here.
Or on Facebook :)
